Electrical Engineer

Job Description

  • Specify and design electrical/electronic hardware for new product development and product enhancements
  • Formulate/implement test plans, perform evaluation testing, and analyze results, deliver test summary documents
  • Provide electrical engineering product support to manufacturing, quality and supply chain when warranted
  • Minimize electronic cost and complexity of designs utilizing minimally viable product methods
  • Minimize waste and improve the overall cost of production of new products utilizing DfSS and DFMA methodologies.
  • Develop/support electronic aspects of vertically integrated custom equipment and systems used for calibration and testing within the Manufacturing and QA Departments

Experience Requirements

  • 5 to 15 years of electronics design experience only
  • Candidates must have been gainfully employed as a design engineer contiguously since graduation
  • Solid theoretical background in both analog and digital circuit design
  • Experience in the following areas are required:
    • Schematic design and PCB layout (we use Altium)
    • Embedded microcontroller/microprocessor applications in mixed analog and digital real time systems
  • Experience with at least one or more of the following areas:
    • Single phase and multiphase power circuits spanning the 120 VAC to 480 VAC range
    • Variable frequency motor drivers or DC-AC inverters
    • Synchronous or servo motor control circuit design
    • Design for harsh industrial environments including 2kV to 5kV HiPot
  • Ability to multi-task and a desire to work in a “hands-on” environment
  • Proven communication skills and professional qualities such as initiative and organization
  • Effectiveness in team product development as well as performing assignments individually

Educational Requirements

B.S. Electrical Engineering or B.S. Electrical Engineering Technology

Physical Requirements

  • Office environment requiring ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.  Also includes regular exposure to manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection
  • Capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone
  • Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
  • Predictable and reliable attendance is required
  • Position requires 40 hours/5 days a week
